Water as Art

With Water as Art, I am pursuing an investigation of movement and phases of water. An attempt to freeze in time and register a unique formation of melting glaciers through aerial photography.

The resulting photographs present a painterly quality as if nature was painting with water currents without a beginning or an end. Because water tends to take on a spherical form, the river braids formations twist and turn as a circulatory system.

'Water is the element of selfless contrast, it passively exists for others...water's existence is thus an existing-for-others... It is its fate to be something not yet specialized and therefore it soon came to be called "the mother of all that is special".' (Hegel Encyclopedia of the Philosophical Sciences.)
